Marketing - Tourism
Over the years, I have translated and localised vast amounts of marketing materials for British tourism authorities, and during that time, I gathered much experience. Thanks to that, I feel I now "have a knack" for getting the right message across.
Tourists from Germany might want different things from their holidays than tourists from elsewhere and may not know certain things mentioned in English source texts (e.g.: every Scot knows what a "ceilidh" or a "munro" is, but a German audience needs an explanation), so these texts need to be highly localised and the translator needs to have a deep cultural understanding of both sides. |
Medicine - Clinical studies
In early 2015 I started to specialize in medical and pharmaceutical translations. All relevant information as well as my certificates can be found on my Facebook page and in the Credentials section of this website.
In the course of my career I have gained experience in translating manuals for medical devices (esp. hospital beds, patient hoists, insulin pumps and bariatric systems) as well as clinical studies (e.g. about ADHD, diabetes and HPV). I have also translated and edited numerous online courses for healthcare professionals (e.g. about First Aid, dementia care, stress management on the job). |
Other Work Areas
I have translated, localised and edited various types of texts and topics. From psychological scales and questionnaires for determining personality types to food labels, retail guidelines (from a Japanese enterprise who needed a localised guideline for their retailers in Germany) and academic essays. If you are not sure whether the text you need to be translated/proofread/edited/transcribed falls within my scope of work, please feel free to contact me, and I'll happily have a look and let you know!
