FAQ
Do you offer free test translations?
Do you work with machine translations? How much is a translation? Do you also translate non-medical texts or texts that are not marketing-related? Do you also offer other linguistic services, apart from translation? |
Yes, I do. If you want to see how I handle your texts, how I work, if you even like working with me and what my final translation products look like, you are welcome to send me a short text (max. 200 words). I will then provide you with a free of charge test translation.
In a nutshell: No. In my opinion, a machine translation can never be the basis for a translation produced by me. However, I do work with a so-called CAT tool (computer-assisted translation) which enables me to create consistent terminology databases for each individual client. Perfect, if you want certain specific expressions or terms used throughout all your translations.
The price for a translation depends on several factors. How long is the text? Is the topic rather general or very specialised? Do I have to change a file's format in order to be able to edit it? Do you require a translation from Friday to Monday (i.e. over the weekend)? Just drop me a line and I will provide you with your individual quote for the respective project.
Gladly! I have several years of experience in translating a variety of texts, including commercial, literary and (general) legal texts, and of course all sorts of "general" texts.
However, should you require translation of a predominantly technical or financial text, I will happily refer you to colleagues of mine who specialise in these fields. Let me know if I can help you in this respect. Apart from the translation of English texts into German, I also offer proofreading and editing services as well as linguistic reviews and transcription of German translations.
